Agustí Segarra is professor emeritus at Universitat
Rovira i Virgili (URV). He obtained his degree in Economics from Universitat de
València and his PhD in Economics from Universitat de Barcelona.
He has developed his research in the areas of managerial dynamics,
economic growth, and innovation. In the area of the managerial dynamics, he produced
the first works on entrepreneurship and its effects on technical progress. In
addition, he carried out research on managerial dynamics and survival.
In the area of economic growth, he has approached the regional
differences in relation to the accumulation of the private and public capital
and the evolution of the revenue for inhabitant.
Finally, in the field of innovation and productivity he has studied
the determinants of cooperation in R&D and managerial innovation, as well
as the relationship between competitive
intensity and firms’ productivity.
He has directed several research projects and collective
publications, and has published part of his scientific production in
prestigeous journals in the areas of managerial dynamics and research and
innovation policies.
