Miquel Àngel Bové Sans is associate professor at the
Department of Economics of Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). He obtained his
bachelor degree in Economics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and undertook
postgraduate studies at Universitat de Barcelona. He obtained his PhD at URV, with
a thesis on economic instruments for environmental improvement.
Recently, his teaching has focused on environmental economics, economics of
tourism, and economic analysis of strategic behavior. His main research interest
focuses on issues related to economic mechanisms for improving environmental
quality, tourism development policies, and strategies for active learning, in
the context of educational innovation. Regarding this last aspect, he won the Teaching
Quality Prize of the URV’s Social Council in 2008.
Currently, he is Coordinator of University Entrance Examinations at URV. He has
also been Coordinator of the Master in Industrial Organization of URV, and Dean
of the Faculty of Economics and Business of URV.
