Misericòrdia Carles is an associate professor at the Department of Economics of Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). She obtained her bachelor degree in Economics at UNED and undertook postgraduate studies at URV, where she obtained her PhD on topics related to health economics.

Her main research interest focuses on issues dealing with the management of health care institutions, the evaluation of clinical trials, cost-benefit analysis of medical treatments and the regional impact of health care organizations.

Currently, she is Vice-rector for Knowledge Transfer and Innovation. She has also been Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of URV
