Danilo Guaitoli is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics and a member of GRODE (research group in economic organization and decisions) at URV.

He holds a degree in Economics and Social Sciences from U. Bocconi and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, where he worked with J. Scheinkman and G. Becker. His previous academic activities include teaching and research positions at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, visiting positions at CEPREMAP and University of Southern California, and affiliation to CEPR.

His main areas of interest are related to growth, human and social capital, asymmetric information, political economy. In particular, he has done research on conjectural equilibria and rationalizability; moral hazard with nonexclusive contracts; competition in financial markets; information extraction mechanisms; human capital, inequality and endogenous growth; the dynamics of social capital and its effects on economic and political outcomes.
